About That Pure Life
Going into college I wanted to teach people how to get healthier and apply wellness to their lives in the most practical and sustainable ways. I obtained a bachelor's degree in Health Promotion from the University of North Texas in 2007. Nutrition and wellness are something my friends and family have always asked for my opinion on so I finally decided to get a further certification as a Holistic Nutritionist once my sons were out of elementary school.
I love how capable our bodies are to heal themselves when given the right environment to be their best through nutrition, lifestyle, and environmental factors. I believe wholeheartedly that many people just do not know how great they were made to feel and are living in chronic states of inflammation within at least one major body functionality. Nothing gives me greater joy than to see my clients taking back their health or keeping themselves aligned with a healthy lifestyle and thus enabling themselves to live their best life both physically and mentally! But my favorite thing, most of all, to see is my teenage sons eating their vegetables on their own!! I believe when people are educated about nutrition they naturally will make better choices with what they eat. I hope by working with clients they feel empowered on what to choose when filling their plate to best serve their bodies.
I have learned through education and personal experience that food is not something to fear and highly regulate but rather that real food can be healing and a way to nourish your body and mind from the inside out. That Pure Life was born after many trips to one of my favorite places, Costa Rica! Every time I go I stand still in the Costa Rican notion of living life in its purest form, as they say, “Pura Vida”! I love the simplicity of peeling back the layers of faster, better, cheaper that America lives by and getting back to the simplicities that are at the root of health and wellness: holistic nutrition, movement, hydration, rest, positive mindset, and spiritual wellness.
